Lifting has always been a core part of what we do at Alliance Tool Hire.
Now, we’re building on that with a £300,000 investment into our Lifting Division - expanding our equipment, growing our team, and strengthening the systems that support our customers day to day.
Investing in Equipment, People and Systems
This latest investment includes increasing our fleet of lifting equipment, bringing more LEEA-qualified engineers into the business, and introducing bespoke software to support testing, inspection and the management of customer-owned equipment.
It’s all part of a wider focus on improving how we support lifting projects - not just through hire, but through the full lifecycle of equipment on site.
Expanding Our Lifting Capability
Our lifting hire range continues to grow, covering everything from:
- Material hoists and gantry systems
- Chain hoists and machine skates
- Block grabs and man-riding equipment
We work with trusted manufacturers including Genie, Mace, Loadsurfer, Tractel and Conquip, alongside a full range of accessories such as shackles, chain slings and webbing slings.
Testing, Inspection and Ongoing Support
Alongside equipment hire, we continue to expand our in-house testing and inspection services.
Our engineers are fully accredited to carry out LOLER inspections at six and 12-month intervals, and we support customers with ongoing equipment management, helping to keep everything compliant and operating as it should.
We also provide additional services including mechanical and beam testing, as well as on-site installations where required.
All work is carried out in line with current legislation and Health and Safety Executive guidance.
Supporting a Range of Sectors
We work across a broad mix of industries, including:
- Construction and civil engineering
- Demolition
- Metal fabrication
- Roofing, waterproofing and cladding
We also support haulage companies with testing services and technical advice.
Delivered Through Our Depot Network
Our lifting services are primarily operated from our Ashford, East London, Gatwick and Salisbury depots, with access available across our full network including Bath, Bristol, Newport and North and South London.
Looking Ahead
As Beth Peters, our CEO, explains:
“Lifting has been a core component of our business since day one. We’ve built real expertise in this area, and we’re one of only a handful of hire firms able to offer this depth of products, services and software solutions.
“While others have been withdrawing from the market, we see real opportunity. This investment puts us in a strong position to grow this part of the business significantly.”
