We caught up with Tony from Bath and Arnie from Bristol to hear about their journey, how the acquisition has worked for them, and how they’re benefiting from being part of the Alliance Tool Hire network.
Q&A with Tony, Depot Manager at Alliance Tool Hire Bath
How has the transition to Alliance Tool Hire been for you and your team?
The transition to Alliance Tool Hire has been exciting for the former Avon Tool Hire team. The outlook is positive and over the past year I’ve worked hard to implement changes to fine-tune the branch and the team here in Bath.
What have been the biggest benefits of joining Alliance Tool Hire?
Being part of the Alliance family allows us to offer a wider scope to our customers. Many of them work in other areas of the country where we have additional branches to support their hire requirements. Locally, we’ve also benefited from customers coming to work in the area who have been referred through their links with other depots.
Alliance have made a significant investment in new equipment and have added some lines and brands – for example Hilti breakers. I also appreciate being able to draw on the expertise of our network, allowing me to provide even better service to our customers.
What are you most excited about moving forward?
It’s been a very busy year since I took over the Bath branch, but I’m pleased to see that the right changes are taking shape. One of the most exciting developments is introducing Carolyn Stacey to the team. She will play a key role in promoting the Alliance brand across Bath, Bristol, and the surrounding areas. Looking ahead, the future is bright, and we’re excited about the growth opportunities within the business.

What has your experience been like since joining Alliance Tool Hire?
It's been good so far—certainly a lot busier than I expected! I've enjoyed the challenge of getting stuck in and being part of such a dynamic environment.
How has the team supported you as you’ve settled into your role?
The team has been great—really supportive and welcoming. They've helped me get up to speed with all the new kit, and it’s been brilliant to have such a strong group around me as I settle into the role.
What are you most looking forward to as part of the Alliance Tool Hire team?
I'm really looking forward to learning more about the tool hire industry and building new connections. There’s so much to take on board, but I’m keen to expand my knowledge and meet more people through the role.
