Pre-Hire Checklist
Selecting the right lifting gear is critical. Before placing an order, consider:
- Load weight and load centre - What is the maximum weight to be lifted? What is the correct load centre?
- Height of lift - What is the correct height of lift?
- Suspension point - Do you have an adequate and safe suspension/anchorage point?
- Obstructions - Are there height, width, or access restrictions?
- Environment — Will equipment be used indoors, outdoors, or near water?
- Power source — Manual, electric, air, or hydraulic-powered equipment?
- Accessories — Are shackles, slings, or beams needed for the lift?
